
Pune, Nov 6: NCP city president Deepak Mankar has demanded that the Pune Municipal Corporation should give the arrears of salary and pension to its retired employees in a lump sum as per the Seventh Pay Commission.
In a letter to the Municipal commissioner Vikram Kumar on Saturday, he said that the PMC has approved the implementation of pay scales in 2021 for officers, employees, servants, retired servants and others as per the 7th Pay Commission.
This proposal has also been approved by the state government.
From January 2016 to 2020, the PMC shall take the difference till this period according to the financial
condition, said Mr Mankar.
In the main meeting of the PMC, it was decided to give the full benefit of the 7th Pay Commission to the servants and to pay the arrears in five installments, out of which, two installments have already been given to them.
It was also decided that the dues should be paid to the retired servants in two installments, but only one installment of the dues had been given. While the second or final installment was not given.
Mankar, while providing necessary documents in this regard, has requested civic authorities to take immediate decision on paying the remaining arrears of salary and pension as a lump sum and give them the financial benefits.
