Nashik, Dec 11- The district and sessions court in Nashik has granted an extension to the police custody of Lalit Patil, the alleged mastermind behind the MD (mephedrone) drugs seizure case, along with three accomplices—Rohit Chaudhary, Zeeshan Sheikh, and Harish Pant. The extension, requested by Public Prosecutor Pankaj Chandrakor, aims to facilitate further interrogation for the ongoing investigation.

The defense lawyers for Lalit Patil strongly opposed the extension of police custody, but the court decided to remand them for an additional 10 days. The Nashik city police took custody of the four individuals from Arthur Road Jail.

In a recent development, Shivaji Shinde, Bhushan Panpatil, and Abhijit Balakwade were also arrested in connection with the same case, further expanding the scope of the ongoing investigation.
