Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch its first global electric vehicle (EV), the e-Vitara, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in 2025. The e-Vitara will compete in the growing Indian EV market, challenging models like Hyundai’s Creta EV and Tata’s Curvv EV. This launch marks Maruti Suzuki’s entry into the EV market, with more electric vehicles planned for India in the future.

Key Highlights:

  • Made for India: The e-Vitara is the first EV built on Maruti Suzuki’s HEARTECT-e platform, designed specifically for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), ensuring an efficient and optimized design.
  • Premium SUV: The e-Vitara will be a premium compact SUV, sold through Nexa showrooms, featuring advanced technology and a stylish design.
  • Battery and Range: The e-Vitara is expected to offer two battery options—49kWh and 61kWh—with a range of about 550km per charge. It may also include All-Wheel Drive (AWD), which is rare in this category.

Design and Features:

The e-Vitara’s design, first shown in its concept form as the eVX, includes features like short overhangs, a flat floor, and a more modern look compared to current Maruti Suzuki models. It will highlight its premium nature with advanced design and improved performance.

Awaited Details:

Maruti Suzuki has not yet revealed specific details for India, including pricing and official features, but these are expected at the launch.

The e-Vitara aims to set a new standard for compact EVs in India, offering a mix of affordability, performance, and premium features to meet the needs of Indian consumers.
