Google recently released its “Year in Search 2024” report for Pakistan, showcasing the top trends and topics searched throughout the year. The report highlights what caught people’s attention across six main categories: Cricket, People, Movies and Drama, How-to, Recipes, and Tech.
Interestingly, many of Pakistan’s top searches in 2024 were related to India. This included searches for Indian business leaders, popular Indian TV shows on streaming platforms like Netflix, Sony, and Amazon Prime, and cricket matches involving the Indian team, especially during the T20 World Cup.
Cricket and India’s Dominance
Five of the most searched cricket matches in Pakistan featured India. The much-anticipated India vs. Pakistan match in the T20 World Cup topped the list. Other popular searches included games like India vs. Australia, India vs. England, and India vs. South Africa.
People, Movies, and Drama
In the People category, Indian business leader Mukesh Ambani topped the searches.
For Movies and Drama, Indian TV shows and Bollywood films dominated the list. Popular shows included:

- 12th Fail
- Mirzapur Season 3
- Bigg Boss 17
The most-searched Bollywood movies in Pakistan for 2024 were:
- Animal
- Stree 2
- Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
- Dunki
India’s Search Trends Differ
On the other hand, India’s “Year in Search 2024” had no searches related to Pakistan. The trends in India covered a wide variety of topics, including sports, entertainment, music, memes, and unique social themes.
Top Indian searches included the IPL, Olympics, and entertainment favorites like Stree 2 and K-dramas. Indian trends also reflected interest in indie music, quirky memes, and workplace humor—such as Gen Z boss memes.
Other notable searches in India included:
- Celebrating athletes like Vinesh Phogat and Hardik Pandya.
- Paying tribute to the late Ratan Tata.
- Exploring new relationship themes like the Orange Peel Theory and Throning Dating.
- Travel searches for destinations like Azerbaijan.
