Drunken altercation between women near Malhar Mega Mall raises concerns over rising late-night violence

Indore, May 19:
A late-night outing in Indore’s Vijay Nagar area took a dramatic turn when a group of young women, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, engaged in a physical fight outside a popular pub. The incident, which occurred around midnight near Malhar Mega Mall, was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media.

According to police reports, the altercation began outside Lighthouse Pub, where two women started fighting after a minor dispute during a dance session inside the club. In the viral footage, the women can be seen punching, kicking, and pulling each other’s hair while shouting at one another in the middle of the street.

Attempts by bystanders to stop the fight were unsuccessful, and tensions escalated when male members from both groups got involved. The brawl soon spilled onto the road between C21 Mall and Malhar Mall, drawing a large crowd and causing panic among the public. While some tried to intervene, many bystanders were seen recording the incident on their mobile phones.

Police were called to the scene and managed to control the situation. An FIR has been registered at Vijay Nagar police station.

Inspector Chandrakant Patel confirmed that 20-year-old Neha Ajnar filed a complaint stating that while she and her friend were exiting the pub, a boy made an inappropriate comment. When they confronted him, the situation worsened, leading to a group assault involving both boys and girls.

Both women involved have filed separate complaints, alleging physical assault by unidentified individuals. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify those involved.

“The investigation is underway, and strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty,” said Inspector Patel.

The incident has sparked public concern about increasing cases of public disorder, especially involving alcohol and late-night gatherings.
