A 23-year-old law student, Rakshit Chaurasia, allegedly drunk, crashed his car into three vehicles, killing a woman and injuring eight others in Vadodara’s Karelibaug area late Wednesday night.

How the Accident Happened

Chaurasia, a fourth-year law student at M S University, was driving a car owned by his friend, Meet Chauhan, who was in the passenger seat. The accident took place near Amrapali Complex, where Chaurasia first hit a woman on a two-wheeler, then crashed into two other bikers. The impact was severe, causing the car’s airbags to deploy.

After the crash, Chauhan quickly left the car and distanced himself. Meanwhile, Chaurasia got out of the vehicle and started shouting strange phrases like “another round,” “uncle,” and “Om Namah Shivay”. Angry locals stopped him from escaping and beat him up before the police arrived. The entire incident was recorded on CCTV cameras.

Police Investigation and Legal Action

Vadodara Additional Police Commissioner Leena Patil confirmed Chaurasia’s arrest. His blood samples have been collected to check for alcohol, and Chauhan’s samples were also taken. • Among the injured is a child, who has been hospitalized.

Background of the Accused
