Kolhapur / Raigad, Dec 4 – The Mahayuti (tripartite) government, comprising Bhartiya Janata party, Shiv Sena (Shinde group) and Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar), was committed to make the people of Konkan skilful, declared Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday.
Addressing a public meeting at Srivardan in Raigad district, he said that the goverment would not let funds fall short for development works in coastal Konkan region.
Considering the fact that Konkan has a long seashore, he talked about development of tourism, promising to give adequate funds for tourism development works.
On completion of Revas-Reddy highway, a tourism spot would come along the highway, the DyCM said.
He further said that in last five years, the people of Konkan had suffered as overhead electricity cables were snapped during natural calamities like cyclones, hence the goverment has now decided to supply underground electricity, he said.
Pawar asserted that the government was trying to retain Maharashtra’s number one position in the country with help of the central government.
