CM KCR condemns attack on BRS MP Prabhakar Reddy

Hyderabad, Oct 31: Strongly condemning murder attempt on BRS MP and Dubbaka BRS candidate K.Prabhakar Reddy, BRS Supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) on Monday said that attacks on BRS leaders and activists will not be tolerated.

Kotha Prabhakar Reddy being stabbed while campaigning in Surampally of Doulathabad mandal in Dubbak.

The assailant, who was nabbed, thrashed and handed over to the police by the public, was alleged to be a congress supporter, according to sources.

In a statement, KCR said that such barbaric physical attacks on the leaders have no place in democracy.

Resorting to the politics of physical attacks without facing public verdict in the elections is a shame, the CM said.

The Chief Minister exhorted people, BRS leaders and party workers to be more cautious against such anti-social elements during the election period.

The CM, who is on a tour of Assembly constituencies, called Minister Harish Rao on phone and enquired about the health condition of Prabhakar Reddy.

The CM ordered to provide better treatment to seriously injured Prabhakar Reddy, who was shifted to Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad.

According to hospital sources, the health condition of Medak MP and BRS candidate is stable after he underwent a life saving surgery that lasted for nearly four-hours on Monday evening.

KCR, who returned to the city in the middle of the assembly constituency tour, visited the Hospital immediately, where Prabhakar Reddy underwent surgery for the stab injury to enquire about his health condition.

The Chief Minister, personally interacted with the doctors at the hospital officials and asked them to make all arrangements to provide the best medical care for the speedy recovery of Prabhakar Reddy.
