Central Railway Launches Week-Long Campaign to Prevent Train Fire Accidents

Mumbai, Nov 18: Central Railway has started a week-long campaign aimed at preventing fire accidents on trains, an official release said.
The campaign, which began on November 16, encompasses various programmes sensitising passengers, porters, sanitary workers, parcel staff, pantry car staff, catering staff, on-board housekeeping staff, and other outsourced personnel involved in train operations.
The campaign will end on November 22.
The release said Central Railway has consistently undertaken efforts to reduce fire incidents and implemented various fire safety measures during the festive season. The measures include checking fire detection and suppression systems in coaches, inspecting parcel vans for inflammable materials, and examining all dustbins in trains for flammable items.
On the first day, several activities were conducted to educate rail users on taking preventive steps to avoid fire incidents, said release today.
