Mumbai, Oct 4: A delegation of Warkari community met Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde regarding various demands of the community in the state.
Among various demands discussed in the meeting with the Chief Minister included that of the Vitthal Rukmini temple at Pandharpur should remain under the control of the government.
The state government has affection, respect and honour towards the Warkari brothers, the Chief Minister told the delegation.
Shinde further said that Minister Dadaji Bhuse will coordinate to follow-up on the demands of the Warkaris.
Upon getting a positive response from the Chief Minister, the chant of ‘Pundalik Varda Hari Vitthal’ by the Warkaris rent the air in the Cabinet hall on the seventh floor of the secretariat, a press release said here on Tuesday.
