
Kolhapur, Oct 4: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a district sports officer while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1.10 lakh from a complainant.
Accused Chandrshekhar Vishwanath Sakhare, who was working as district sports officer (class-1) at Kolhapur, had demanded 15 per cent of Rs 8,89,200 as bribe from complainant for providing sports materials to sports office.
Later, the matter was settled at Rs 1.10 lakh, a press release issued by ACB said here.
However, complainant informed about this to the city unit of ACB, whose team laid a trap at district sports office on Tuesday evening and caught red-handed Sakhare with the bribe money, it added.
