Rae Bareli (UP), Dec 6 – A Deputy Medical Officer (DMO) posted in modern rail coach factory committed suicide allegedly after killing his wife and two children in Lalganj area of Rae Bareli district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Wednesday.
Police sources said that bodies- Dr Arun Singh (35), his wife Archana (32), daughter Adeeba (12) and son Aarav (4) under mysterious circumstances late on Tuesday night.
Police sources said that Dr Singh was an ophthalmologist and was posted as the DMO.
“It is being stated that the doctor was suffering from depression and was not reporting on duty since Sunday,” they said.
Police sources said that the neighbours got suspicious when the gate of the deceased’s house did not open and informed the police.
“The police had to break the door to recover the bodies,” they said.
Police sources said that it is being suspected that the doctor gave sedatives to his family and then battered their heads with a hammer.
“After this, he slit his veins and hanged himself. The hammer has been recovered from the spot,” they said.
Police sources said that the bodies have been sent for a postmortem, and the matter is being investigated by the forensic team with the help of the dog squad.
