Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 20: – In a bid to elevate Kerala’s travel and hospitality sector, Kerala Tourism is set to host a large-scale ‘Tourism Investors Meet’ (TIM) in the city on November 16. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the event, showcasing abundant investment opportunities in destinations, products, and initiatives that position the state as an all-season experiential tourism hub.

Minister for Tourism and PWD PA Mohamed Riyas briefed the media, emphasizing the untapped potential of the tourism sector in Kerala. The event, attended by around 350 investors, will unveil opportunities in hospitality, eco-tourism, adventure tourism, responsible tourism, and sustainable tourism projects. Riyas highlighted the state government’s extensive land assets and the need for sustainable development to make Kerala a global tourism hub.

The event will feature presentations, exhibitions, seminars, and workshops on tourism trends, fostering collaborations through project pitch sessions, roundtable discussions, and B2B meetings. The state government aims to leverage joint ventures, public-private partnerships, and operational arrangements to catalyze investments.

A special facilitation center at the Tourism Directorate in the state capital will assist investors in advancing their projects, creating a positive economic impact, generating job opportunities, and transforming the tourism sector holistically. The Tourism Investors Meet aligns with Kerala’s 25-year success story, built on a strong state-industry partnership.

The unveiled logo signifies the strategic strides Kerala Tourism aims to make, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth. The event seeks to increase the tourism sector’s contribution to the state’s GDP from 10 percent to 12 percent. Despite global challenges, Tourism Director Nooh highlighted that over 1.88 crore visitors came to Kerala in 2022, setting an optimistic backdrop for the Tourism Investors Meet.

The conclave promises to set the stage for investors to explore diverse opportunities in Kerala, showcasing land parcels owned by tourism and other departments. The Tourism Investors Meet represents a pivotal moment for Kerala’s tourism sector, demonstrating its resilience and commitment to growth in the face of global uncertainties.
