Bahraich (UP), Dec 12 – Three people, including a police constable and his son, were killed and two others injured when a car rammed into a stationary tractor trolley in Fakharpur area of Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Tuesday.
Police sources said that Suresh Kumar Tyagi (50), who was posted at Risia police station in Bahraich district as head constable, along with his family, had gone to his native village of Shekhpur in Ghazipur district.
“The incident took place when Suresh Tyagi, along with his wife Pushpa (42), son Basu (3), and daughter, were returning to Bahraich late on Monday night,” they said.
Police sources said that near Madan Kothi village on Lucknow-Bahraich Road, the car in which the family was travelling rammed into the tractor trolley parked along the roadside.
“The injured were taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared Basu dead,” they said.
Police sources said that Suresh, his wife Pushpa, their daughter and driver Yaqoob to King George Medical University (KGMU) at Lucknow in a serious condition.
“Suresh and Yaqoob succumbed to injuries at KGMU during treatment,” they said.
