The Success Story of Paras Milk: From a Small Business to a Leading Dairy Brand

Success in any business comes from hard work, dedication, and a strong desire to excel. Many successful companies start small, face challenges, and grow step by step. Paras Milk is one such inspiring story of steady growth and success. What began as a small milk-selling business in Delhi has now become a well-known brand, delivering dairy products to millions of homes every day and competing with major companies in the industry.

Humble Beginnings

Paras Milk was founded by Ved Ram Nagar, who started his career as a small milk seller in Delhi. In the early days, he sold just 60 liters of milk per day. However, he saw the potential for a bigger business and focused on expanding milk processing and distribution. In 1980, he set up his first firm, followed by a milk processing unit in 1984. By 1986, he had established V.R.S. Foods, which later became known as Paras Milk.

Expansion and Growth

The company grew quickly in the 1990s. A major turning point came in 1987 when Nagar set up a large milk plant in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, increasing production and distribution capacity. In 1992, another plant was established in Gulaothi, further boosting the business. By 2004, Paras Milk expanded beyond Delhi-NCR, opening a plant in Gwalior to reach more parts of India.

Unfortunately, Ved Ram Nagar passed away in 2005, but his sons took over the business. In 2008, they rebranded the company as ‘Vedram and Sons Private Limited,’ strengthening the Paras Milk brand and introducing new dairy products.

Beyond Dairy: A Diversified Business

Over time, the company expanded into other sectors, including healthcare, real estate, education, and pharmaceuticals. This diversification helped the business grow beyond dairy. The Nagar family also remains active in politics and social work. Surendra Singh Nagar, one of Ved Ram Nagar’s sons, is now a Rajya Sabha MP. Through the Chaudhary Ved Ram Charitable Trust, the family supports education and healthcare initiatives.

A Wide Reach Across India

Today, Paras Milk operates in multiple states, including Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh. The company works directly with 5,400 villages, supporting thousands of farmers by not only purchasing milk but also providing financial help for dairy farming. Paras Milk currently sells about 3.6 million liters of milk daily, maintaining a strong presence in Delhi-NCR and other major cities. The company’s product range includes ghee, butter, cheese, curd, and flavored milk, which are widely loved by consumers.

A Legacy of Hard Work and Vision

The journey of Paras Milk is more than just about selling milk—it is a story of determination, innovation, and the vision of Ved Ram Nagar. What started as a small dairy business has grown into one of India’s leading milk brands. This inspiring success story proves that with hard work and a clear vision, dreams can become reality.
