Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced financial assistance of Rs three lakh to the bereaved family of a medical student from the state who was found dead near a hostel in Jharkhand. The student, M. Madan Kumar, a student at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Jharkhand, was discovered with burn injuries near a hostel building on Thursday.
Expressing deep anguish and grief over the incident, Chief Minister Stalin wrote to his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren, urging a detailed probe into the matter to ensure justice for the student’s death. The body of Madan Kumar was brought to his native Velagoundampatti village in Namakkal district and was cremated.
The financial assistance will be provided from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund, as announced by M.K. Stalin.
