Amritsar, Oct 23 : In a major blow to the trans-border narcotic network, the Special Security Operations Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar successfully dismantled a cross-border heroin smuggling racket. One individual has been apprehended, and a substantial 12 kilograms of heroin have been recovered from the operation.

The police revealed that drones were employed in transporting drugs from Pakistan, showcasing the utilization of advanced methods in illicit activities.

Furthermore, the arrested individual has direct connections with the notorious drug smuggler Ranjeet, also known as Cheeta. Ranjeet gained notoriety following his arrest in May 2020 for a massive 532 kilograms heroin haul. Additionally, the arrested person is linked to Ranjeet’s brother, Sarwan Singh, alias Bhola, who operates from the USA.

This successful operation marks a significant stride in curbing cross-border drug trafficking, and law enforcement remains vigilant in its efforts to dismantle such networks.
