Mumbai, Oct 2: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday assured that colonies of conservancy workers who keep Mumbai city clean and beautiful and maintain good health of Mumbaikars will be transformed.

He gave this assurance during his visit to the colony on second day of the state-level ‘Ek Tarikh Ek Taas’ campaign for cleanliness and on the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

The Chief Minister said that the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation has been given direction that an
independent team should review the facilities required in this colony.

He gave an order to immediately complete the stalled work of two buildings in the area.
The Chief Minister also said that instructions have been given to the BMC to prepare a scheme for the children of the conservancy workers who want to pursue higher education.
