In a related development, Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council Ambadas Danve on Monday blamed the state government for the deaths of 24 patients in just 24 hours at Shankarrao Chavan Medical College and Hospital at Nanded.

“In last 24 hours, 24 innocent patients have lost their lives in a government hospital in Nanded due to lack of proper medical facilities. Among them were 12 newborn infants. A similar incident had taken place in Thane a few days ago,” he said while criticising the state government. How many more innocent citizens is the government going to kill?” he asked.

Talking about shortage of medicines, Danve claimed that the shortage of medicines in the government hospitals of the state is due to non-procurement of medicines.

“Due to shortage of medicines, innocent citizens are losing their lives and the government is fully responsible for these incidents,” he added.
