Roshni Nadar Becomes First Indian Woman in Global Top 10 Rich List
New Delhi: Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Chairperson of HCL Technologies, has made history by becoming the first Indian woman to enter the top 10 of the Hurun Global Rich List 2025. With a net worth of ₹3.5 lakh crore, she now ranks as the fifth richest woman in the world.
Her rise in rankings follows a significant transfer of wealth from her father, Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL Technologies. She inherited 47% of his stake, giving her control over key companies Vama Sundari Investments (Vama Delhi) and HCL Corp, which manage HCL Technologies.
Following this transfer, Nadar now holds voting rights for 44.17% of Vama Delhi’s stake and 0.17% of HCL Corp’s stake in HCL Technologies. Additionally, she controls 12.94% of Vama Delhi’s stake and 49.94% of HCL Corp’s stake in HCL Infosystems.
Prior to this change, Shiv Nadar owned 51% of both Vama Delhi and HCL Corp, while Roshni held 10.33% in both entities.
Corporate Leadership & Philanthropy
Roshni Nadar took over as Chairperson of HCL Technologies in July 2020. In addition to her corporate role, she is also a trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which runs several leading educational institutions in India.
