Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Oct 21: To improve the power distribution system in the state, the Revised Distribution Sector Scheme ( RDSS) is being implemented with the financial assistance of the Central Government, Union Minister of state for finance Dr Bhagwat Karad said on Friday.

Dr. Karad was speaking in a review meeting of the RDSS at Divisional Commissioner office here on today .
Dr Karad further said that due to this scheme, there will be a radical change in the power distribution system. This is a unique scheme to strengthen power distribution infrastructure, improve quality and availability of supply, provide funds for works to reduce power loss through smart metering.

This scheme will be effectively implemented in the entire district including our metropolis and a fund of Rs 3800 crore has been given to our district for this scheme, Dr Karad said .

He said that, apart from strengthening the electricity system in rural areas including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar metropolis, the government is also focusing on uninterrupted power supply to every unit.
Along with expediting the ongoing work through the RDSS scheme, complete the process of providing the required space for the power sub-station at speed, he directed to concern officials.
Availability of 63 sites for the required space for power substations will be promptly made available.
