
Ram Mandir’s Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das Passes Away at 85
Ayodhya: Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ram Mandir, passed away at the age of 85 on Wednesday. He took his last breath at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow.
He was first admitted to a private hospital on February 3 after suffering a stroke but was later shifted to SGPGI for better treatment. On February 11, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited him in the hospital to check on his health. He had been struggling with diabetes and high blood pressure for a long time.
Acharya Satyendra Das had been serving as a priest at Ram Mandir since before the Babri Masjid demolition on December 6, 1992. When the temple construction was completed nine months ago, he resumed his role as the chief priest.
A dedicated member of the Nirvani Akhada, he started his spiritual journey at the age of 20 and devoted his entire life to religious service.
