Chennai, Oct 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday night announced a financial assistance of Rs two lakh each to the families of the passengers, who were killed in a train accident in Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh.
In a social media post, he said the assistance will be provided from the Prime Minister’s National Relief fund.
He also announced Rs 50,000 each as assistance to the injured passengers.
“The Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from the PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased due to the train derailment between Alamanda and Kantakapalle section. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000”, he added.
