Mathura (UP), Nov 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the three-day event to be organised on the 525th birth anniversary of Bhakti saint Mirabai here on November 23.
On the first day of the event, a dance drama based on the life of Mirabai will be staged by Hema Malini and her co-artists at the venue of Vraj Raj Utsav program currently underway at the railway ground, Mathura.
Mathura MP Hema Malini said that the PM has accepted her invitation to attend the anniversary event of Mirabai. She said that there is no pilgrimage bigger than Braj Mandal, where Lord Shri Krishna appeared and performed his Leelas.
The Lok Sabha MP said, “Braj Dham is actually the heart of Radha Rani. Many saints say that there is no better Vaikuntha than Braj. At present the month of Kartik is going on. Lord Krishna likes this month very much. Vraj Raj festival is organised this month. Many big artists perform here. Besides, local artists will also get a chance to perform.”
On this occasion, Sugarcane Development Minister Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan Singh said that the Vraj Raj Utsav, which was started in 2008 to preserve and promote the art and culture of Braj, has become a banyan tree.
“On the first day on Tuesday the audiences thoroughly enjoyed the songs and bhajans of Ishita Vishwakarma in the Vraj Raj Utsav, organized as a confluence of the art, culture and cuisine of the country and the state along with the culture, art and crafts of Braj,” he said.
On this occasion, while giving information about Mirabai Jayanti and Vraj Raj Utsav, CEO of UP Vraj Tirtha Vikas Parishad, Nagendra Pratap said that in the midst of Vraj Raj Utsav, a national seminar will be organized on Mirabai on November 24 and 25 in the auditorium located at Deendayal Veterinary University campus.
He said that prominent scholars from across the country have been invited. Along with this, in the Mirabai Janmotsav itself, UP Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad will show the 1979 film Meera starring Hema Malini on November 24 and the 1947 film Meera starring Shubhalakshmi to the audience on November 25.
