New Delhi, Nov 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief and anguish over the loss of lives in the strong earthquake that hit Nepal on Friday night. In a statement on X, PM Modi said, “Deeply saddened by the loss of lives and damage due to the earthquake in Nepal. India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and is ready to extend all possible assistance. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families, and we wish the injured a quick recovery.”
A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck remote western Nepal late Friday night, resulting in at least 128 casualties and 140 injuries. The earthquake caused significant damage to houses, buildings, and infrastructure facilities.
