Shillong, Oct 5 : Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma flagged off the CRPF Women Motorcycle Expedition-2023, named Yashswini, from Polo Ground. The expedition, promoting women empowerment and the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, involves simultaneous flag-offs in Srinagar, Kanyakumari, and Shillong, with riders converging in Gujarat on October 31 for National Unity Day. Sangma praised the dedication of women CRPF personnel, emphasizing the importance of women’s participation in all spheres.
Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh commended CRPF’s initiative in breaking gender stereotypes, and Inspector General Anurag Agrawal highlighted the expedition’s role in inspiring women across the nation.
