Imphal, Dec 02 – Manipur Health Minister S. Ranjan Singh on Friday said that the fight against HIV-AIDS was not yet over, and during the past few years the rural areas have been affected by the viral menace.
He said HIV-AIDS was an urban-centric problem earlier, but in recent years it has infitrated the village homes.
The Minister was addressing a World AIDS Day, 2023 event here.
Speaking on the theme “Let Community Leads” the Minister informed that an aggressive approach is required to fight against drugs.
The Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh, launched War Against Drugs. Cooperation by the public, working NGOs and community participation is necessary to control the menace. Sharing views and public interaction on HIV-AIDS will also help to bring a positive solution in this regard, the Minister suggested.
