Mamta Kulkarni, a popular actress from the 90s, recently became the center of attention on social media after being awarded the title of Mahamandaleshwar by the Kinnar Akhada at Mahakumbh 2025. This decision was met with heavy criticism from spiritual leaders like Ramdev and Bageshwar Dham. They questioned her receiving the title, and within a week, Mamta lost the honor.

To address these accusations, Mamta appeared on Rajat Sharma’s show, “Aapki Adalat”. When Rajat asked about Baba Ramdev’s comment that “no one can become a saint in a day,” Mamta responded by saying, “Fear Mahakal and Mahakali,” implying that people should not question her spiritual journey. Bageshwar Dham also criticized her, questioning how someone as young as 25 could be made a saint. He argued that the title should only go to someone whose inner self truly reflects sainthood.

In her defense, Mamta said, “I’ve done penance for as many years as Bageshwar Dham’s age,” referring to his 25 years of life. She also dismissed claims that she paid 10 crores to receive the title. Mamta clarified that she doesn’t have 10 crores, or even 1 crore, and that she only gifted 2 lakhs to her guru, as her bank accounts were frozen.

Mamta shared that she never aimed to be a Mahamandaleshwar. She also revealed that for the last 23 years, she hasn’t watched any adult films and emphasized that accepting the title was not her personal decision, but rather a suggestion from Acharya Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi of the Kinnar Akhada.
