The Maharashtra government has removed the ₹500 stamp duty required for affidavits submitted to government offices. This decision, announced by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, will benefit lakhs of students and common citizens. The change will be implemented immediately.

What’s Changing?

Earlier, people had to pay stamp duty for affidavits needed for official certificates like:

  • Caste verification
  • Income certificate
  • Residence certificate
  • Non-criminal certificate
  • Nationality certificate

Now, you don’t need to pay for stamp paper. Instead, you can simply write a self-attested application on plain paper and submit it to the tehsil office to get these certificates.

How Does This Help?

Saves Money – Families, especially students after 10th and 12th board exams, will save ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 on certificate applications.
Easier Process – No need to buy stamp paper, just a simple application is enough.
Immediate Implementation – The government has already ordered officials to start this rule right away.

Who Benefits?

📌 Students & Parents – Getting school-related documents will be cheaper and hassle-free.
📌 General Public – Anyone needing official certificates will save time and money.

This decision will make life easier for millions of people across Maharashtra!
