Kolhapur, Oct 20: Maharashtra BJP President Chandershekhar Bavankule accused Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray of damaging Hindutva by being part of the INDIA alliance. He referred to INDIA alliance leader Udayanidhi’s statement that if the alliance came to power, ‘Sanatan Dharma’ would be finished.

During a press conference in Ratnagiri, Bavankule dismissed Thackeray’s claim that the central government did not provide funds during the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government’s rule in the state. Bavankule alleged that Thackeray, who rarely visited Mantralaya during the MVA government’s two-and-a-half-year tenure, did not send any development proposals to the central government. He claimed that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputies were actively following up on the state’s proposals.

Accusing the MVA government of bringing the state’s development to a standstill, Bavankule emphasized that the BJP had not staked a claim on any constituency yet. The central parliamentary board, along with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, would make decisions on candidate selection in consultation with the Mahayuti alliance.

Bavankule concluded by expressing confidence in BJP warriors working diligently in all constituencies during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
