New Delhi, Nov 16- Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has urged Indian Police Service (IPS) officer trainees to leverage technology for more effective investigation and crime management.
Addressing the 75th Batch of Officer Trainees of the Indian Police Service at the inauguration of the Appreciation Course in Parliamentary Processes and Procedures, Birla emphasized the importance of adopting technology for speedy and qualitative results in investigations. He noted that three new bills related to police and criminal laws, introduced in the last session, would further aid officers in discharging their responsibilities more effectively once passed.
Congratulating the Officer Trainees on their selection to the prestigious service, Birla expressed optimism that they would uphold justice and maintain law and order with utmost excellence. He highlighted the global recognition received by successful candidates in Union Public Service Commission examinations, citing it as a testament to their dedication, intelligence, and perseverance.
Birla stressed the need for a comprehensive understanding of parliamentary procedures, emphasizing the harmonious co-existence between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. He acknowledged the crucial role of the police administration in maintaining law and order, particularly during periods of public unrest and crises.
The Speaker emphasized the importance of trust-building between the police force and the public, especially during crises, and urged Officer Trainees to ensure that justice is accessible to everyone in society, regardless of their social, economic, or political status.
