Pune: In a shocking incident, a leopard attacked a husband and wife who were riding a two-wheeler in Ghulepat Shiwar of Otur, Junnar taluka.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday when the couple were heading towards their home. The injured have been identified as Gangaram Tambe and his wife Manisha Tambe.
On getting information about the incident, the forest officials immediately rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to the Primary Health Center in Otur after which they were admitted to Junnar Rural Hospital for further treatment.
A cage has been set up in the area to catch the leopard. Citizens are advised to arrange sufficient electricity at night, not to walk alone, carry batteries, play loud music on mobile phones, and keep livestock in closed cowsheds.
