Hyderabad, Nov 4 : The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday caught a Junior Assistant working in the Sub-Registrar office in Nirmal district when he was accepting a bribe of Rs 8000.
At about 1132 hours today, the accused Vegyarapu Arun Kumar was caught by ACB, Adilabad Unit at his office when he demanded and accepted bribe of Rs.8,000 from the complainant S Sayed Kaleem (38) of Chakpally Village in this district through Pileevar Raju, a private assistant for doing an official favour.
Kumar demanded bribe for registration of the Gift Deed pertaining to the residential house of the father of the complainant on the name of Kaleem,” a ACB release said.
The Junior Assistant thereby performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly.
The fingers of both hands of another accused Pileevar Raju yielded positive results in the chemical test and the bribe amount was recovered from his possession.
Both were being arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Karimnagar, the release added.
