Shillong, Dec 7 – The Indian Air Force (IAF) along with the Indian Army conducted various exercises with the US troops at Umiam lake in Meghalaya on Wednesday.
“As part of Indo – US joint exercise – Ex Vajraprahar 2023, IAF along with IA conducted various exercises with US troops in a Mi-17 Heptr at Umiam lake, Shillong on 06 Dec 23. Helocasting Ops were also carried out, displaying high standards of precision, synergy & professionalism,” the Eastern Air Command of the IAF posted on X.
The 14th edition of the Indo-US Special Forces drill, VAJRA PRAHAR 2023, is underway at Joint Training Node in Meghalaya’s Umroi Cantonment.
The exercise which started on November 22 will culminate on December 11.
The joint exercise aims to facilitate the sharing of best practices and experiences in joint mission planning and operational tactics. The exercise will involve special operations, counter-terrorism operations, and airborne operations in simulated mountainous terrain.
It serves as a platform to enhance interoperability and strengthen defense cooperation between the Indian and US armies.
