Srinagar, Oct 21 – Jammu and Kashmir Congress president Vikar Rasool expressed confidence on Friday that the INDIA alliance would secure victory in all Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories in the upcoming elections. Drawing parallels with the recent Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)-Kargil elections, where the INDIA alliance emerged victorious, Vikar Rasool predicted a similar outcome in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
In the recent LAHDC-Kargil elections, the National Conference and Congress alliance secured 22 out of 26 seats in the first polls after the reorganization of the erstwhile state of J&K into Union Territories.
Rasool stated, ‘Like in Kargil, we will sweep the Lok Sabha election, and the INDIA alliance will also emerge victorious here.’
He assured that the J&K Congress is prepared for the upcoming Lok Sabha election and will contest the polls in collaboration with the INDIA alliance. When asked about seat-sharing arrangements, Rasool mentioned that Congress leaders would engage in discussions with alliance partners to determine the distribution of seats.
Rasool emphasized that Congress represents every section of society, highlighting the party’s inclusive approach during the election campaign, where district presidents, representatives from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, women, and individuals under 50 years of age were accommodated.
Denying reports of groupism or non-cooperation within the party, Rasool expressed confidence in the strength and unity of Congress in Jammu and Kashmir.”
