Mumbai, Oct 19: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has given his approval for a hike in salary of daily employees of the Maharashtra State Disability Finance & Development Corporation.


Presiding over an annual general body meeting of the board of directors of Maharashtra State Disability Finance & Development Corporation at Sahyadri guest house here on Wednesday, he gave approval for various issues of the Corporation.

Among various decisions taken in the meeting was purchase of 667 green energy-powered eco-friendly mobile shops for self-reliance of the differently-abled persons in the state.
Accordingly, 667 green energy powered eco-friendly mobile shops for disabled persons will be procured from a company in Faridabad and instructions have been given to distribute these to disabled beneficiaries by January 2024, said Shinde.

He said that the concerned company should modify these vehicles according to the type of disability of the beneficiaries, the Corporation should follow up.
The Chief Minister also directed to speed up the process of beneficiary selection.
Shinde also suggested that a web portal should be created for information on various schemes for welfare of disabled people, beneficiary selection process. It would be launched on December 3 on the World Day of Persons with Disabilities, he added.
