
Five Dead, Six Injured in Triple Collision on Khamgaon-Shegaon Highway
Khamgaon: A major road accident on the Khamgaon-Shegaon highway at Jaipur Lande Phata claimed five lives and left six others critically injured in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 5 AM and involved a triple collision between an ST bus, a Bolero, and a private travel bus.
According to police reports, an ST bus traveling from Pune to Paratwada was first hit by a Bolero. Moments later, a private travel bus coming from behind crashed into the ST bus, leading to a chain reaction of collisions.
The impact of the crash was severe, resulting in the immediate death of five people, including the Bolero driver from Shegaon. Six other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to government hospitals in Khamgaon and Akola for emergency medical treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. The incident has raised concerns about road safety on this busy highway, highlighting the risks of early morning travel and the urgent need for stricter safety measures to prevent such fatal accidents in the future.
