Mumbai, Dec.01: The person behind the social media threat to Bollywood actor Salman Khan is suspected to be in a European nation, the Mumbai police said on Thursday.
The Mumbai police, which is investigating the case, said Khan has been threatened through a Facebook post from the account of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Police suspect that members of Bishnoi’s gang and his associate Goldie Brar are hiding in European countries.
The cyber cell of Mumbai police and the crime branch are trying to trace the person who posted the threat message.
There was indiscriminate firing at Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal’s house in Canada on Sunday. Bishnoi gang had taken responsibility for this firing.
A message was written from a Facebook account in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi threatening Grewal that as he treats Salman Khan as an elder brother, “Your brother should save you, and this is also a message to Salman Khan that you are under the illusion that Dawood will help you, no one can save you from us”.
After the threat was posted on social media, Mumbai Police reviewed Salman Khan’s security and asked him to remain alert.
