Jammu, Nov 6: The activists of Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party (DSS) on Monday staged a protest as its chairman and former Minister Choudhary Lal Singh appeared before Enforcement Directorate a second time for questioning in connection with an educational trust case here.
Notably, the trust is run by Singh and his wife Kanta Andotra (ex MLA).
Andotra along with supporters of Lal Singh and activists of DSS gathered outside the ED office here at Narwal and staged a protest against the summons served to him.
The supporters shouted anti-BJP slogans alleging that Lal Singh is being harassed at their behest.
As part of a money laundering probe against the R B Educational Trust of Kanta Andotra and a former government official in connection with alleged irregularities in land purchase to set up the trust, the Enforcement Directorate had conducted searches in Jammu and its adjoining areas.
“The BJP led government in the Centre is harassing the political leaders in the opposition through ED like agencies,” said Andotra.
She stated that scared of his (Lal Singh) popularity and feeling threatened in the Lok Sabha elections next year, BJP is making all out efforts to put him in jail.
