
Dinesh Nandwana, Founder of Vakrangee, Passes Away at 62
Dinesh Nandwana, the founder of Vakrangee Limited, passed away on January 31, 2025, at the age of 62. He was from Kota, Rajasthan, and built Vakrangee into a leading technology company.

Nandwana’s death occurred while the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was conducting a search at his Mumbai residence in Andheri (East). The exact cause of death will be confirmed after a postmortem. Police have registered an accidental death report, and no complaints of foul play have been made by his family. The ED was carrying out searches at several locations linked to Nandwana when he faced health complications.
Vakrangee Limited confirmed his passing in a statement, remembering him as a pioneering entrepreneur. The company, which provides services in banking, insurance, e-governance, e-commerce, and logistics, is also known for producing voter ID and Aadhaar cards.
Nandwana, a Chartered Accountant, founded Vakrangee in 1990 as a tech consultancy firm. The company grew to play a key role in government projects and was listed among Forbes India’s “Super 50” companies in 2017. At that time, it had a market value of over ₹240 billion (US$2.8 billion), and Nandwana was ranked as India’s 88th richest person with a net worth of $1.72 billion.
