The coastal region of Konkan, especially the areas of Malvan, Devgad, and Vengurla in Sindhudurg, has seen a rise in visitors this Christmas season. With the festive spirit in full swing, tourists are flocking to the beaches and popular attractions to celebrate the end of the year and the start of a new one.

One of the main attractions drawing large crowds is the Devgad Windmill. Surrounded by a beautiful garden, the windmill is a popular spot for families and adventure lovers, thanks to its zipline and the nearby Devgad Beach. Many tourists from Mumbai and other areas are visiting, creating traffic jams along scenic routes like Ratnagiri and Jaitapur.

Other nearby attractions like Vijaydurg Fort, Mithamumbari Beach, and Kunkeshwar are also becoming popular, adding to the charm of this coastal area. As a result, local hotels and lodgings are fully booked, reflecting the increasing number of tourists in Devgad.

With the popularity of the Windmill Garden and the zipline, traffic on the main roads connecting key destinations has become a concern. Many visitors are passing through Devgad on their way to Malvan and eventually to Goa via Vengurla.

Authorities are working on improving traffic management to make travel smoother for visitors. In the meantime, the region’s natural beauty continues to attract holidaymakers, creating a lively atmosphere and showcasing the charm of Konkan’s coastal wonders.
