Agra (UP), October 12: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that small scale industries are the backbone of the economy pointing out that employment generation and economic self-reliance of families is possible only through small scale industries.
Addressing the Uttar Pradesh Entrepreneur Convention organised by Laghu Udyog Bharti, the CM assured the entrepreneurs that those who violate the law in the state will not be spared, regardless of who they are. For the first time, more than 5,000 small entrepreneurs from across the state participated in the event in Agra.
Addressing the event, he said, “This moment is priceless for me. Today, I have had the privilege of interacting with small entrepreneurs for the third time in three months.”
Yogi mentioned that Laghu Udyog Bharti was also a partner of the government in the International Trade Show organised in Greater Noida between September 21 and September 25.
He said that small businesses create more employment in less space while meeting all environmental standards at a lower cost, leading to greater economic self-reliance of families. He said that UP has a long history of being the foundation of small industries, with various industries in different regions.
The CM said, “The UP government, inspired by Prime Minister Modi, initiated the One District, One Product’ (ODOP) scheme in 2018 to revive small industries, and over the years, it has yielded significant results. Today, through the ODOP scheme, UP has increased its exports 250 times in the past five years. We made a sick state like UP economically prosperous with the hard work of these entrepreneurs.”
He said that in 2020 the MSME policy removed the need for an NOC for up to 1,000 days and all necessary facilities are now being offered to entrepreneurs. “The mission is rapidly progressing, with the construction of flatted factories in Agra, Kanpur, and Varanasi,” he said.
Yogi emphasized that the state government has a zero-tolerance policy towards crime. “We will not compromise security, regardless of who is involved. Anyone engaging in criminal activities will face the consequences,” he said.
He said, “For the first time in the 2022 assembly elections law and order became a significant electoral issue, and the public stood with the state government.”
The CM further advised entrepreneurs that if they want to start or have already set up a business and form partnerships with local institutions, the children there can provide them with manpower effortlessly. “During their training, if you register these young individuals, the government will provide them with half of their honorarium. This will result in having a team of experienced individuals, and investing in the training of young people will yield positive results,” he said.
