Vijayawada, Oct 2: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu began his dawn-to-dusk fast in the Rajahmundry Central Jail on Monday in protest against his arrest in the Skill Development scam case.
The TDP gave a call to its leaders and cadres to observe fast on Gandhi Jayanthi day today in protest against the arrest of Naidu. The TDP christened the programme as ‘Satyameva Jayate’.
Naidu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneswari was observing fast at the quarry centre in Rajahmundry. A large number of TDP leaders including party women wing state President V Anita and senior leader Nannapneni Rajakumari also observed deeksha along with Bhuvaneswari.
Chandrababu Naidu’s son and TDP National general secretary Nara Lokesh began his dawn to dusk Deeksha in New Delhi.
A large number of TDP leaders including MPs Kesineni Srinivas Nani, K Rammohan Naidu, Kanakamedala Ravindra and YSRCP rebel MP Raghurama Krishna Raju and Indian Journalist Union National president K Srinivasa Reddy took part in the programme held t the residence of MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar in the National Capital.
TDP AP Unit president K Atchannaidu along with a large number of leaders embarked deeksha in the party state office at Mangalagiri near here.
Meanwhile, the TDP leaders have embarked deekshas across the state in protest against the arrest of former CM.
Naidu was arrested on September 9 and had been in the Central prison since then. His Judicial remand was extended till October 5 by the ACB court here.
