Jammu, Oct 7: Chief Executive Officer Anshul Garg has called for collective action on multiple fronts to ensure a hassle-free pilgrimage during the upcoming Navratra festival. In a joint meeting with security agencies and local authorities at the Spiritual Growth Centre in Katra, Garg emphasized the importance of pilgrims wearing valid RFID cards, which are linked to various facilities during the yatra.

Garg stressed that no pilgrim would be allowed to start the yatra without a valid RFID card. With the Navratras approaching and expectations of a heavy influx of devotees at the Holy Shrine and base camp Katra, Garg underscored the need for synergy among all stakeholders.

During the meeting, security and operational preparedness for the Shrine area were assessed to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience. Garg highlighted the deployment of security personnel and the use of CCTVs along the route to monitor and enhance security.

He urged security agencies to remain vigilant at entry points, ensuring proper frisking and registration of pilgrims. Garg also directed a thorough verification and census of pony porters to prevent any suspicious elements on the track.

The CEO reviewed disaster management measures, including fire-fighting preparedness, emphasizing quick and effective responses in case of emergencies. He directed the monitoring of vulnerable areas and conducting simulated exercises for crowd management.

Various directives were issued for the movement of vehicles, sanitation, drinking water arrangements, and illumination of dark spots in Katra town. Garg also addressed haphazard parking issues, instructing authorities to tow away unauthorized vehicles.

Security challenges were highlighted by representatives of security agencies, prompting the use of drones for real-time monitoring. Additional forces will be deployed to ensure foolproof security, and a detailed security grid was presented, including the deployment of quick response teams and a multi-tier security setup comprising police, CRPF, and other paramilitary forces.
