New Delhi, Nov 03: Launching a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for not appearing before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over alleged excise policy scam, BJP on Thursday said Kejriwal is the “kingpin” of the entire scam in Delhi and that’s why he avoided to face ED investigation.
Addressing a press conference here at party headquarters, Party spokesperson Sambit Patra said, ” He is not brutally honest, but shameless. “
Patra said, “Today Arvind Kejriwal does not want to appear before the Enforcement Directorate and is writing a letter asking in what capacity he has been called …I answer this, ED has called you considering him as an ocean of corruption and a source of corruption.”
BJP’ s remarks came after Kejriwal wrote a two-page letter to ED and asked the agency to “recall” the summons as they are “vague, motivated and unsustainable in law”.
The central agency had summoned Kejriwal for questioning in the alleged Delhi excise policy case and record his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act PMLA.
Patra said, ” The Supreme Court has said a money trail of Rs 338 crore has come to light in the liquor scam, then why did Arvind Kejriwal not be investigated? …. The amount of Rs 338 crore in this scam is only a part of the beginning, the corruption is much more than this.”
Mentioning Supreme Court’s decision regarding Manish Sisodia, BJP spokesperson said, “The kind of comment used by the Supreme Court while rejecting the bail plea of Manish Sisodia three days ago has proved that a money trail of about Rs 380 crore has been established. It happens.”
