Gold worth Rs 1.63 cr seized from Kenyan woman at CSMI Airport by AIU

Mumbai, Oct 2: The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the Customs department apprehended a Kenyan woman at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (CSMI) Airport, seizing gold worth ₹1.63 crore from her, as reported on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, the AIU intercepted 40-year-old Sahra Mohammed Omar at CSMI airport on Sunday.

Officials discovered 3,404 grams of gold concealed in her innerwear and on her person. Following her arrest, she was presented in court and has been remanded to judicial custody.”
