Dharashiv, Nov 16 – Activist Manoj Jarange-Patil initiated the second leg of his statewide tour on Wednesday as part of his ongoing agitation advocating for reservation for the Maratha community. The tour will encompass regions in Konkan and Western Maharashtra, concluding at Shegaon in Ahmednagar district on December 24.
Commencing the tour with a rally in Vashi village, Jarange-Patil emphasized the urgency of the Maharashtra government providing Kunbi caste certificates to all Maratha community members by the set deadline of December 24. He warned that if the government fails to announce reservation by the specified date, the agitation will persist until their demands are met.
During this tour, Jarange-Patil plans to engage with the Maratha community members, fostering dialogue to strengthen their resolve. In the first leg of the tour conducted in October, the activist traversed Marathwada and Western Maharashtra before embarking on the second phase of his hunger strike, further pressing for the Maratha quota demand.
