Hyderabad, Oct 28 : The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday registered a case against the Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Kalwakurthy Police station of Nagarkurnool district.
In a release on Saturday, the ACB said on August 7, 2023, one Naresh Ingle iof Hyderabad caused an accident with his Car to Car No. AP22 AQ 3299 of Jagan of Kalwakurthy in the limits of Police Station, Kalwakurthy. Jagan, owner of Swift Dzire forcibly took him to Maruti Nexa Showroom, Kalwakurthy.
The Accused Officer (AO) V.Anjaneyulu, AS1 of Police, Kalwakurthy Police Station visited and seized his driving license and took him and his family members to Kalwakurthy Police Station.
Later, the ASI demanded to pay an amount of Rs.5,000 as bribe to him and also to pay R. 30,000 to S Jagan, Swift Dzire Car Owner. On the demand of the said ASI, the complainant Naresh Ingle paid an amount of Rs 3,500 as ash to the A.0 and the remaining balance amount of Rs.1,500 was sent through Google Pay to the A.S.I.
He also paid an amount of Rs.30,000 to Jagan, Swift Dzire Car Owner through his Google Pay. Thus, the AO Anjaneyulu, performed his duties improperly and dishonestly which constitutes an offence punishable under PC Act.
Hence a case vide Cr. No. 6/RCO-ACB-MBNR/2023, U/s 7 (a) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (As amended in 2018) has been registered against him today in ACB, Mahabubnagar Range. Further investigation is underway.
