New Delhi, Nov 16: Aam Aadmi Party leader and MP Raghav Chadha on Wednesday claimed that the party will file a complaint with the Election Commission against the BJP for allegedly sharing posts on its social media handles to “malign” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s image.

Briefing mediapersons at the party headquarters here, Chadha said AAP National Secretary Pankaj Gupta has requested a meeting with the Election Commission on the issue.

Providing detailed information about the matter, Chadha accused BJP of running a “slander campaign” on social media targeting Kejriwal. He alleged on November 5, the BJP posted “objectionable content” on social media platforms to “tarnish” Kejriwal’s image.

The AAP also posted content in response to the post shared by the BJP on social media. However, while the AAP received a notice from the Election Commission regarding this, the BJP did not.

Raghav Chadha alleged, “In recent days, the BJP has been consistently trying to malign Kejriwal’s image through their social media handles. Kejriwal, besides being the AAP national convener, is also the star campaigner for the party in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram where elections are ongoing. The AAP will file a complaint with the Election Commission against this conspiracy. In this regard, Pankaj Gupta has written a letter requesting a meeting with the Election Commission within a day or two.”

“This isn’t the first time the BJP has stooped to such low levels in politics to tarnish the image of AAP leaders and produced such ridiculous content on their social media handles. The BJP always resorts to character assassination. They haven’t spared anyone from the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to the current Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

“The BJP continuously tries to tarnish everyone’s image. In this case, AAP’s representatives will lodge a complaint with the Election Commission and demand strict action against BJP,” alleged Chadha.
