Puri,Oct.4: In a significant announcement, ISRO Deputy Director P Sunil unveiled plans for the launch of Chandrayaan 4, 5, and 6, each with an augmented payload capacity. The revelation came during a program commemorating World Space Week at Sri Jagannath Sanskrit University.

Sunil further disclosed that ISRO is contemplating the launch of a space station, indicating a new frontier in India’s space exploration endeavors. He emphasized India’s evolving role as an economic powerhouse in the space sector, contributing significantly to the global space business.

Highlighting India’s current success in space missions, Sunil noted the substantial earnings generated from international space ventures, currently standing at about 2 percent, equivalent to 7 billion dollars. The strategic decision to diversify and enhance payload capabilities reflects ISRO’s commitment to advancing space exploration on a global scale.

The event at Sri Jagannath Sanskrit University marked a departure from traditional Sanskrit-centric conferences as it hosted a unique conference on space, complete with an exhibition on India’s moon mission and space adventures. Students had the opportunity to engage with scientists from ISRO and IIMT-CSIR, gaining insights into various Indian space programs, including the Chandrayaan series, Mars mission, and the Aditya L1 mission to the Sun.

World Space Week celebrations in the city extended beyond the university, fostering a weeklong conference in space science. The exhibition featured spacecraft models, diverse rocket types, and their trajectories in space, captivating the curiosity of students and encouraging their interest in space science.

The interaction between fifteen Odia scientists from Sriharikota space centre and students further enriched the educational experience, covering various topics related to space exploration. This comprehensive initiative aims to ignite the minds of young students, inspiring them to delve into the fascinating realm of space science.
